Leon and Rita Tokar are dedicated to ensuring that Tokar Estate is a warm, inviting retreat for all those who visit. One of the primary draw cards for this restaurant is the opportunity to soak up panoramic views of the surrounding vineyards and mountain ranges. On top of the magnificent landscape, the Tokar Estate Yarra Valley Winery Restaurant serves up sophisticated dishes with strong Italian and Spanish influences cooked with gusto. Making the most of the region’s liberal supply of local produce, the chefs often adjust the menu to make sure the freshest seasonal ingredients are put centre stage. The décor of the restaurant is clean and simple with the opportunity for slow breezy lunches on the outdoor deck during summer.

Sumptuous yet understated entrees include specialties like smoked trout and spanner crab, and artichoke and pumpkin ravioli. Mains offer a range of rich Mediterranean style meat and vegetarian dishes. The positively sinful dessert menu includes winter favourites like bread and butter pudding, as well as delights for warmer weather such as the summer berry pudding.

The Yarra Valley’s cool climate, combined with restricted yields from the vineyard allows Tokar Estate to produce premium wines of first-class quality which display a lingering palate and fabulous aromas. Their signature wine is the 2006 Tempranillo - a superb Spanish varietal. Tokar Estate is first vineyard in the Yarra Valley to produce wine from this variety. The Restaurant serves Tokar Estate wines (many by the glass), along with a handpicked selection of other drops.

Tokar Estate offers a private and peaceful atmosphere for functions of up to 130 people for cocktails, and 84 for sit down meals. Considering the stunning location it is not surprising that Tokar Estate is also a popular choice for weddings.

Lentil and Vegetable Vol au Vent - Succulent lentil and vegetable ragu served in a crisp golden puff pastry basket, topped by a goat’s cheese, Spanish onion and beetroot salad | $28.50

Fish Selection - Pan fried blue eye on a bed of house made Squid ink linguini, served with pippies and a saffron consommé, topped by a fried caper and snow pea foliage salad | $31.50

Beef Medallion - Prime grilled (MSA) Eye Fillet, served with an enoki mushrooms and bone marrow Agnolotti, pomme gratin and finished with a port and thyme jus | $34.50


Chocolate Delice - Rich chocolate Delice, served with a roast hazelnut, chocolate sauce and vanilla bean ice cream | $15.50
