LOCATIONWild Cattle Creek Estate is located in the heart of the Yarra Valley along the Warburton Highway. Just a short drive from the township of Lilydale.
DETAILSWith it timber-laden floors, red brick walls, and chandelier lighting fixtures, the restaurant has a distinct cottage feel perfectly suited to its idyllic surroundings in the Yarra Valley. An open fire crackles in the winter months providing a warming ambience, and a perfect hideaway from the cold. In the summer, make the most of the open vineyards, landscaped garden lawns and spacious veranda to sit back and relax as you sip on the local drop from the Cellar Door.
FOOD & BEVERAGEWild Cattle Creek Estate specialises in modern Australian cuisine using the distinctive flavours of the Australian bush and locally-sourced produce from the Yarra Valley to create a diverse selection of seasonal dishes. For entrée dine on the likes of peanut crusted pork belly with crunchy Asian salad and a sweet soy dressing or a roasted pumpkin tart with bacon, sage and parmesan crisp. Main meals are equally rich in flavour with delicate beetroot gnocchi on a bed of spinach puree, Persian fetta and dill butter, or a sumptuous dish of tender pancetta wrapped eye-fillet in a herb crust, with cauliflower puree and caramelised shallots. For a decedent dessert try the burnt honey crème brulee with rosemary shortbread or the chocolate mint vacherin with warm chocolate sauce. The menu is complimented by an exclusive wine list featuring the estates fine wines. Be sure to take advantage of the adjoining Cellar Door for a tutored wine tasting or maybe even a bottle or two to take home and enjoy.
FUNCTIONS With the capacity to seat up to 130 guests, the estate is ideal for weddings, corporate functions and private dining events. The Chardonnay Room is well suited to smaller functions, of up to 80 seated guests or 100 for a cocktail-style event. There is a range of menu packages available to suit varied event time frames and budgets, and accommodation on site for weekend wedding events or simply to take in the picturesque setting of the vineyards.
