If you're partial to a swing of the old golf club, Bella Restaurant is very handy indeed. It's nestled within the Sebel Heritage, part of a development that includes a Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course. There's also a decadent day spa and retreat as part of this destination for leisure-lovers, along with tennis courts, a gym and walking tracks.
But you don't need to work up a sweat to dine at Bella. A taste for the finer things in life is all that's needed to have a swell time here.
Bella is housed in an attractive modern space with polished timber floors, crisp white walls and an abundance of light streaming in through oversized windows. The menu is concise but with enough choice to make it interesting. The food is an enterprising blend of familiar favourites combined with top quality local ingredients. Oysters (natural and Kilpatrick) and fried calamari make a welcome appearance on the entree menu. For your main course you'll be tempted by tomato tart with Persian fetta, Wagyu carpaccio with celeriac remoulade and beef fillet with braised beef tortellini. The steaks here are well worth a try. The wine list is what you might expect from a restaurant that's located at the gateway to the Yarra Valley and includes plenty of local drops. You might not fancy making the drive from the city for dinner alone, but if it's a weekend away that you have in mind Bella and the Sebel Heritage will fit the bill nicely.
