Situated on the city’s Flinders Lane, Yak Bar Pasta Artigiana is the perfect spot for a light refreshment of the alcoholic kind and some sumptuous Mediterranean fare. The feature here is the bar which takes up residence in the centre of the room; however it also serves as a sit-down dining venue accommodating those in need of a feast or a light snack. The unique interior is a fusion of Middle Eastern and west Asian designs, giving it a warm relaxed ambience, and in the summer large folding doorways open to accommodate alfresco sidewalk dining.

If you’re after a light snack the tapas selection is the go. Munch on mushroom, goats’ cheese and potato croquettes, chargrilled beef skewers with tzatziki, or pan-fried Cajun fish pieces with aioli. For lunch sample the tandoori chicken focaccia with avocado, tomato and salad, or the daily tapas plate with a glass of house wine.
