LOCATIONIn the beachside suburb of Mordiallic, approximately 45 minutes’ drive from Melbourne’s CBD.
DETAILSWindows on the Bay is a spacious and simple restaurant space that echoes its natural surrounds with stone and timber finishes. Expansive glass windows offer panoramic views to the nearby beach and water for guests to ogle while they dine. The central dining area is the most casual, with informally laid bare tables. Flanking this section are formal areas, where plush chairs upholstered in red fabric surround white linen clothed tables.
FOOD & BEVERAGEAs is expected from a diner so close to the water, menus are dominated by deliciously fresh seafood. Dine on the likes of the salt and pepper squid with aromatic cous cous and cucumber ribbons for entrée, and the pan fried barramundi with yabbies, spinach and chorizo crumble for main. If you’re more in the mood for meat, the eye fillet steak with sautéed spinach, pommes gaufrette and sauce bordelaise is equally tempting, much like the crisp pork belly with corn and saffron puree, broccoli timbale and carrot relish. Desserts offer modern takes on classic European sweets, such as the vanilla crème brûlée with a compote of berries and brittle shortbread.
FUNCTIONSWindows on the Bay is an idyllic venue for beachside wedding ceremonies and sophisticated receptions. The restaurant can also host groups for small and large functions. Able to accommodate 170 for a seated meal and up to 250 for cocktail functions, the kitchen team can offer packages to suit all types of event styles.
