PROFILED BY DE GROOTS MEDIAThe Lounge Room is a modern lounge, bar and restaurant. The potentially formal dining room adorned with crisp, white linen-clad tables is softened by an informal lounge area with open fireplace and large bay windows with sea views. Head chef Darryl Hand has created a modern Australian menu that takes full advantage of the beautiful, fresh local seafood.
Start your day with the Docklands breakfast of eggs on toast with bacon and tomato, or a choice of white or wholemeal fruit loaf. A set lunch menu is offered as are a variety of set dinner menu options ranging in price and courses. From the a la carte menu choose an entree of mussels with lemongrass and coriander. From the pasta and risotto selection try the duck risotto with chive oil and caramelised prosciutto. Alternatively, order a main of Atlantic salmon on wasabi mash with sauteed bok choy and a soy and ginger glaze, or the Lounge burger with fries and salad. Leave room for the banana and walnut pudding with cognac anglaise. The patriotic wine list hosts a couple of imports with most offered by the glass.
