PROFILED BY DE GROOTS MEDIAPlanning a hen's or buck's night could not be easier thanks to this little Turkish gem. With four private rooms all with their own distinct Mediterranean-influenced theme, a traditional tent atmosphere and a courtyard area designed for enjoyment, The Kilim Turkish Restaurant is a favourite whatever your ethnicity. Choose to dine in the Ottomans Room whilst taking in an exotic belly dance; the Cushion Room, so named for its cushion seating arrangement, where traditional rugs drape down from the ceiling; or the slightly larger Salterns Room where couches are the go. Either way you are guaranteed a unique experience fuelled by excellent cuisine.
Specialising in charcoal grilled kebabs and fish platters, The Kilim Turkish Restaurant is all about home-style cooking from the Mediterranean and the Middle East. Start with an entree of marinated vine leaves wrapped around spicy rice fillings, followed by a main of minced lamb chargrilled on a bamboo skewer and served with rice. Banquettes are an excellent option for parties of two more allowing for optimum tasting at reasonable prices (which start as low as $29 per person and include dessert and coffee). The $15 beverage option allowing unlimited local beer, wine and soft drink consumption over a two and a half hour period is also excellent value. Hoslanmak!
