Located on the Riverside at Crown in Melbourne, the brasserie by Philippe Mouchel features contemporary French cuisine, Australian and French wines, exemplary service and sleek decor. With more than 30 years' experience in restaurants around the world, Philippe is one of the world's most highly regarded French chefs. A protege of Paul Bocus, he opened restaurants under the Bocus banner in Lyon, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Houston and Melbourne.

CHEF/MANAGER PHILIPPE MOUCHEL'S PROFILERated as one of the world's finest French Chefs, Philippe Mouchel was born in Normandy and began his career aged 16, working in French Michelin star restaurantas such as Hotel Frantel in Bordeaux and Restaurant Roger Verge in Mougins. He then went on to open restaurants as Head Chef for the legendary Paul Bocus in Lyon, Japan, Hong Kong and Houston, USA. In 1991 he opened Restaurant Paul Bocuse at Dairmaru in Melbourne to great acclaim, moving to Langton's Restaurant and Wine Bar as executive chef, followed by Liberte in Sydney.
From 2002-4 he lived in Tokyo, moving back to Melbourne last year to open his French restaurant, the brasserie by Philippe Mouchel' at Crown. With his fresh take on contemporary French cuisine, Philippe is now being re-discovered by Melbourne's discerning diners.
