LOCATIONSugarcane is situated in Park Street near the beautiful South Melbourne Town Hall on the corner of
Perrins Street, just one block west along Park Street from Clarendon Street.
DETAILSThe building is Heritage listed and was built around 1870. It is clean, charming, dim lighting and has lots of character. Owners Peter and Phanomwan (Wan) Warren have taken what has been a successful local Thai restaurant for the past 6 years and added a touch of North East Thai authenticity to the already vast and popular menu.
There are the usual traditional dishes such as Pad Thai, Spicy Gapao Beef, Green and Red Curries and Crispy Spring rolls and Curry Puffs. you can also enjoy the succulent Salt and Chilli Squid, Marinated Aged Sizzling Beef, Market Fresh Fish of the day with ginger and lemon grass or the famous Triple Combo Curry. If you are really daring you can try the Jungle Curry, especially put together by Wan and the top Thai chef Oscar.
Sugarcane also has a new specials menu that incorporates some traditional North East Thai dishes.
Sugarcane is relaxed, romantic but can also be great for large bookings.
The second level has a great size Private and Function Room that seats 26 people for that special night out with family, friends or work colleagues. And if you want to be alone with just a few close friends, there is a great table that sits 8 people next to the bar and fire place which is nice and cozy.
So come in, relax and enjoy some of the amazing tastes and flavours of Thailand.
