Don’t judge a restaurant by its exterior. Sabroso’s not so pretty from the outside having originally been a petrol station until previous owners turned it into a restaurant. Inside, however, is a different matter. Large communal tables, a deep bar, and armchairs and couches with pendant lighting overhead, all make this bar an attractive little nightspot. The many different kinds of seating arrangements allow you to create your own atmosphere whether you are having a quick catch up after work or opt for a lingering dinner.

The menu is composed mainly of tapas-style dishes. Many regulars prefer to create a meal by sharing a variety of small dishes rather than choosing a main course. A cold glass of beer goes surprising well with some pumpkin croquettes and fried calamari. Order a glass of Spanish red and pair it to the stuffed piquillo peppers which are filled with salted cod, dipped in an egg wash and fried. While many of the tapas dishes have a slight Australian accent the chorizo meatballs take you right to the streets of Barcelona’s Las Rambles. So make like the Spaniards and get cosy with your friends and a table full of tasty morsels at Sabroso where sharing is the order of the day.
