LOCATIONIn the heart of Melbourne’s CBD on Queen Street. Close to Little Bourke Street.
DETAILSThe restaurant has a rustic, weathered look about it, from the shabby chic wall panels in white, baby green and lilac hues to the long timber tables with their bucolic-style wooden chairs. There is also a range of booth-style seating and smaller tables in shades of chocolate brown. A bright blue feature wall and sheer orange curtains liven up the space, and unique lighting fixtures wash the room in a golden glow.
FOOD & BEVERAGEServing local produce all day every day, Queen Street Rescue Restaurant Bar knows how to keep things fresh. The menu is Modern Australian, and dabbles in impressive flavour combinations that certainly pack a punch. Minor dishes include the likes of crispy deep friend banana chilli peppers filled with cheeses and herbs, and smoked oysters with lemon mayonnaise on sourdough crisps. For something more substantial opt for the major and hot pan dishes such as the wagyu burger with Maffra cheddar cheese, zucchini pickles and hand cut chips or the slow cooked duck and morel risotto with Jerusalem artichoke crisps and thyme jus. There is also a refined selection of bottled brews, local red and white drops by the glass and a compact martini list made with 666 Pure Tasmanian Vodka.
