Pizza Napoli

Open for over 40 years now, Pizza Napoli on Russell Street still boasts the same owner and the genuine Italian hospitality that has kept it ever popular. Though it was initially the pizzas that made this Italian eatery famous, the menu has expanded with the times to offer many other traditional items enriched with the flavours of Italy. Families are welcome, children of all ages too, and there is an abundance of quality Italian fare, hospitality and good old fashioned fun.

Pizza Napoli’s chief pizza maker has been here since the doors opened in 1967, making the pizza bases the original Naples way. Feast on a traditional favourite such as the capriciosa with tomato, mozzarella, ham, mushroom, olives and anchovies, or a gourmet option such as the rustica with fresh tomato, mozzarella, roasted eggplant, roasted peppers, pesto, and semi dried tomatoes. Pizza aside, other menu offerings include a starter of the classic Italian vegetable soup (minestrone); a deliciously filling bowl of pasta, or risotto; or perhaps a main of braised lamb shanks in red wine and tomato served on a bed of rosemary mash. Finish with the traditional favourite tiramisu: a layered cheese cake of mascarpone, cream and sponge fingers dipped in coffee and Tia Maria. The wine list is extensive and well matched.
