It isn’t only the breathtaking view across Melbourne that make No35 a remarkable dining experience. Granted, it can be hard to take your eyes away from the stunning vista that the lofty vantage point has to offer, but this fine dining restaurant also boasts elegant, intimate surroundings complemented with rich, dark timbers and modern artworks, unobtrusive yet impeccable service and a fresh, seasonal menu. New chef Stuart McVeigh is intent on presenting diners with simple, contemporary dishes that serve to showcase the very best local produce available. The menu has also been tailored to provide flexible dining options offering a full spectrum of flavours with a value-for-money set price three-course menu, a varied seven-course tasting menu as well as full a la carte.
Start with crab tortellini with sweet corn puree and fried Clarence River shrimp or the globe artichoke salad with goat’s curd, green grapes and dehydrated olives. Mains of the moment may include smoked Tasmanian eel linguini with quail eggs and king brown mushrooms or crispy Berkshire pork belly with white beans and drunken Crystal Bay prawns. Innovative combinations come into their own with desserts such as warm organic carrot cake with curry ice cream, carrot jelly and coriander or dry lychee meringue with white rum jelly. A comprehensive wine selection featuring a wide range of European, Australian and New Zealand vintages rounds out this restaurant’s many charms, making No.35 an ideal destination for special occasion dining or truly memorable functions.
