PROFILED BY DE GROOTS MEDIAKiss Pizza offers a unique concept – a pizza restaurant housed within a functioning radio station – and it’s proven to be a hugely popular one as well. Not only does this cutting edge dance music station provide a warm and friendly environment to enjoy your favourite hot slice, the pizzas themselves are worth making the diversion to Victoria Park station for. The experienced hands of chef Paolo D’Alloste (ex-Caffe e Cucina and Il Solito Posto) turn out traditional thin crust pizzas with all the old favourites and a few new combinations as well. The place is fully licensed and the pizzas themselves are reasonably priced and also available for takeaway or delivery if the soundtrack doesn’t match you mood.
Try the Carl Cox breakfast pizza – the world’s number one DJ has put his name to a meat lover’s delight consisting of tomato, cheese, egg, mushroom, sausage, bacon and prosciutto. Altogether there are about 14 choices including seafood, slow-roasted pork, haloumi and hot salami. Wheat free polenta bases are also available. There are also several pasta dishes and salads thrown into the mix, as well as smaller items such as baked prawns, button mushrooms and Italian fennel seed sausage. There are several relaxed dining spaces to choose from. Kick back in the cool retro decor of the front dining area or head out back to the Groove Garden and Kiss Clubhouse to watch the DJs in action and have a beer waiting for them when they emerge from the booth.
