The electro-Bollywood music beating softly in the background adds to the odd mix of things that seem to work perfectly. Staff are softly spoken and extremely polite, and the dining experience is enhanced by light-filled surroundings. When you get to the menu, you’ll find more options than you can possibly manage, so perhaps a range of smaller dishes is the way to go.
Highly recommended and not be found in many Indian restaurants is the Daal Gosht, a lamb and lentil combination flavoured with mint, and also the Machali Malabar grilled fish served with sweet chilli sauce. Vegetarians will enjoy a great range of options too, especially the Kadhi, a unique style of hot yoghurt curry with vegetables and pakoras, and the Aviyal, a spicy South Indian curried vegetable dish with coconut. The curries are rich and full flavoured, with a delicious combination of tastes. Takeaway is a very popular option for North Fitzroy professionals on their way home from work and functions for up to 90 people come with a very flexible menu.
