Some try to hard, others not hard enough - there is an effortless finesse about brilliant restaurants and Garcia & Sons has got it. Perhaps it is the family history in hospitality, the elegant dark timber-clad décor, or probably, the fantastic Spanish tapas dishes. The brilliant small plates such as huevos muijol (delicate quail eggs and roe on toast) and empandas are off-set by a display of fantastic jamon, with John Garcia lovingly slicing the meat upon request. Garcia & Sons in Windsor is known as one of the most authentic tapas restaurants in Melbourne.

Average tapas overall... Croquettes were bland, Empanadas were not restaurant quality. Calamari was good. Octopus was just so-so. Service was reasonable, just a little pushy and inconsistent.review 18/08/2011
