PROFILED BY DE GROOTS MEDIAOpen since December 2006, Fish Seafood Grill and Restaurant is already a favourite with the Docklands crowd. Comprising a restaurant, fresh fish market and fully licensed, gourmet takeaway fish and chip shop/cafe, you’re certainly not stuck for seafood choice. For the ultimate experience choose to sit in the stylish restaurant area, with floor-to-ceiling windows ensuring every table has views of Melbourne’s busy waterways. Relax as you watch the fish lazily swim in the window aquarium or hungrily linger over the other two fresh seafood tanks brimming with live crayfish, barramundi and other tempting treats designed to be devoured throughout the evening.
To ensure your seafood is cooked to perfection a special two metre high oven was commissioned and built; designed to rotate at high speeds quickly sealing in the flavour and moisture of the fish while melting away the fats. Start with a prawn and seafood cocktail, or the lasagne of smoked salmon, creme fraiche and fresh avocado. Follow with a rotisserie Harpuka with basil and creamy pesto, or something live from the tank with a choice of topping such as herb rubbed and roasted and simply served with scored roast potatoes and market fresh vegetables. Finish with the signature tiramisu with a chocolate net and vanilla and chocolate sauce. An impressive seafood-friendly wine list is offered.
