The crowds that flock to Cooper and Milla’s are a sure-fire sign that this trendy little cafe is well worth a visit. The window display of salads and the treasure chest of decadent cakes at the front counter is another giveaway to the fact that the folks who meet and eat here are onto a good thing. Clusters of tables are scattered throughout the cosy space featuring polished timber floors and framed French posters. This is a cafe, so there is a certain informality to the atmosphere but there is nothing casual about the quality of the food.

A mother and daughter team, who both have extensive experience in the food industry, run Cooper and Milla’s with flair and skill. Everything except the bread is made on the premises. The salads, such as the chicken with avocado and sugar snap peas, are exceptional in their flavours and freshness. The chicken sandwich is also a ripper, boasting two thick slices of bread framing freshly roasted chicken and peach chutney. Deliciously hot pies and lots of innovative cakes – of which the chocolate brownie with walnuts is highly recommended – will have you inadvertently licking your chops. This hot spot is perfect for fussy eaters as well since there is a wide range of gluten-free, calcium free and soya products items to choose from. More robust eaters can choose heartier dishes such as cabbage rolls filled with veal and rice perfectly matched to a great Aussie wine.
