PROFILED BY DE GROOTS MEDIAThe youngest sibling of the "Vue" trifecta, though technically it came second, Cafe Vue is the people's Vue and the one we can all afford. It's open Monday to Friday for breakfast and lunch, and Thursday and Friday evenings from 6.30pm when for $75 per person you can enjoy six small dishes matched to six cocktails - the perfect way to end a working week.
Start your day with a breakfast of French toast and spiced roast apple, and an espresso or glass of fresh juice. For lunch sample a baked bean and duck confit "jaffle"; the croque-monsieur with Kurobuta ham; a steaming serving of French onion soup; or the Yorkshire pudding with roast Wagyu, mash and gravy, washed down with a glass of house-made verbena lemonade. Finish with two scoops of espresso ice-cream, or a coffee creme brulee. However, for the true Cafe Vue experience you shouldn't go past the signature Cafe Vue Lunch Box comprising an appetiser (savoury smoked salmon mousse), a salad (Russian salad with lobster jelly), a sandwich (classic chicken with lettuce and mayonnaise), a cheese dish (mature cheese baton with a fresh bread roll), and a dessert (pistachio cupcake). Cafe Vue is fully licensed.
