Trading in Carlton on beautiful Faraday Street since 1985, the Angele family acquired Brunetti’s and transformed it into the authentic Roman pasticerria it is today. Always busy yet always welcoming, Brunetti’s is a combination of warm cafe where you can enjoy an espresso or unique Italian hot chocolate with a delectable Italian treat; pasticerria where you can choose from a selection of tarts, biscuits and cakes designed to accommodate any type of celebration; and a relaxed restaurant that specialises in regional fare that’s best enjoyed away from the hubbub of the bar area.

Start your day with the frittata Contadina with potato, ham, onion, parmesan and toast. For lunch or dinner start with the antipasto variato comprising a selection of Italian appetisers, or the minestrone soup made with a vegetable stock filled with fresh vegetables. Follow with the fettuccini con salmone: fettuccini with a tomato-based sauce with a touch of cream and fresh salmon pieces, or the costola di manzo: rib-eye steak topped with a mushroom and bacon sauce. Alternatively opt for a set menu ranging from $30 per head to the $60 banquet selection. Brunetti’s offers a fair selection of Australian varieties including a concise Italian selection, all reasonably priced.
