LOCATIONOn the burgeoning foodie strip of Dukes Walk, Melbourne.
DETAILSBohemian Bar & Restaurant has taken a pinch of colonialist sophistication and a dash of art-deco style to create a sleek aesthetic that in no way reflects its name. The expansive restaurant with its wooden floor, mahogany tables and bentwood chairs is popular with corporate crowds who flock there for a glass of wine at the bar, or to nab a booth seat with colleagues. A mix of sconce, chandelier and industrial lighting washes the restaurant with a golden glow adding to the effervescent atmosphere.
FOOD & BEVERAGEThe food is classically Spanish in its essence with tapas entrees of chorizo, morcilla and other goodies. But move onto main course and the pace picks up with some contemporary twists to traditional dishes. The squid ink paella with cuttle fish, artichokes and aioli is well-presented and unfettered in its flavours, whilst the suckling pig with poached onion compact and carrot ice-cream is both innovative and indulgent. The wine list features a fabulous selection of Spanish and Argentinean drops with a strong range of Tempranillo’s and some beautiful Malbec’s. There are also three types of Sangria, which are the perfect option when dining with friends.
