You can’t get further into the heart of the action than Number Five. Formerly known as BLVD, this bright and breezy, contemporary diner is perfectly located on the banks of the Yarra, just a stone’s throw from the Southbank precinct and Crown Casino. The downstairs restaurant has contemporary style that remains relaxed, with large windows ideal to while away the afternoon watching the world go by. An open courtyard at the front of the restaurant is popular for after work drinks and provides a front row seat for the Queensbridge Square buskers. Upstairs, two function rooms offer panoramic city views through floor to ceiling windows and versatile spaces that can cater to any occasion.

Dining options are equally varied. Number Five’s modern Australian menu offers tempting starters such as mussels in a rich Napoli sauce, lemon pepper dusted calamari or buffalo chicken wings marinated in zesty Latin spices.

Start with linguini marinara topped with a generous mix of plump seafood, a mouth-watering wagyu beef burger, or perfectly cooked paella that is stained saffron-yellow. Classic desserts such as the brownie chocolate cake or passionfruit cheesecake will satisfy any sweet tooth, while an extensive range of boutique beers, selected wines and killer cocktails will keep you at the bar well into the evening.
