Close to Richmond Bridge, Ma Foosies is quite a pleasant place to read the paper and enjoy a coffee. The bill or fare reads like a restaurant menu, featuring some tasty hot food for those who would linger and a range of panini for those in need of an express feed.
The building looks a tad dull from the outside but once you discover the building is a piece of history (circa 1831) you may be inclined to look upon it more favourably.
Coeliacs are well catered for with meals like the creamy vegetarian Thai red curry. To make it, Ma Foosies folds chargrilled vegetables through a rich red curry and coconut sauce and serves the warming curry on a mound of steamed jasmine rice.
The juicy prawns & scallops are also suitable for coeliacs, lightly simmered in a garlic and dill cream sauce and served with a wedge of warm potato and basil frittata.
Ma Foosies caters for everyone with confidence, turning out reliable meals with a minimum of fuss.
