PROFILED BY DE GROOTS MEDIARed Ochre plays with indigenous Australian flavours and the result is food as comforting as ugg boots in winter. South Australia is blessed to enjoy abundant produce and Red Ochre Grill showcases all of the area’s strongest flavours. Inspired by the earthy flavours of Australia’s own meat, Red Ochre’s dishes are uniquely Australian without crossing over to stereotypical Australiana fare. Instead, they are creative and colourful, and also feature some Asian influences.
The strongest harvest of marron from Kangaroo Island, rock lobster from Robe, beef from the Coonawarra and oysters from Pristine Bay all feature on the menu throughout the year.
Set on the tranquil banks of Adelaide's River Torrens, this restaurant should inspire other restaurants to start taking advantage of our native flavours and make native Australian cuisine stand out on the world stage.
