Watersun Cafe at the Belvedere Hotel

The Belvedere Hotel is a prominent feature on the skyline as you look north from Clontarf towards Woody Point. Protruding into the water directly in front of the Belvedere is the iconic Woody Point Jetty that is now undergoing construction to rescue it from a watery grave. Looking back from here one can see the majestic Belvedere Hotel and imagine it as it once was. This historic building was built in the late 1800s and has since been lovingly refurbished to become the entertainment and dining extravaganza that it is today.

The Watersun Cafe is one of three restaurants located within the hotel, and is easily the most sophisticated of the three. The sandstone decking on the balcony houses intimate linen-clad tables overlooking the view of Moreton Bay and beyond. The menu is Modern Australian and takes advantage of the waterside theme by including some interesting seafood dishes. Try the roasted pork belly topped with coriander crab served on Asian greens; or the homemade barramundi pie served with chips and salad. For something truly different how about the prawn and scallop sausage on potato rosti with salad greens and orange dressing?
