PROFILED BY DEGROOTS MEDIAYou’ll be blessed with a soothing dining experience at Viet de Lites, tucked just off the river at South Bank. Alfresco seating offers diners lovely views of the park and river, while inside the effect is cosy and welcoming. The decor has little touches of Vietnam dotted about the place, setting the scene for the variety of Vietnamese dishes on the menu. An added bonus is that each dish is devoid of nasty additives and all are gluten free. The team at Viet de Lites pride themselves on serving fresh and healthy food.
Crispy chilli calamari, turmeric fish served with a green papaya salsa, soy-glazed salmon, and lemongrass and beef rice vermicelli are just some of the dishes on the menu to be savoured. Vegetarians will be pleased to know they haven’t been forgotten, with delicious offerings such as pumpkin stir-fry and an array of tofu dishes on the menu. For those with a sweet tooth the traditional black rice pudding, deep fried ice-cream or sorbet and seasonal fruit is a fitting end to the meal. On the weekends, the kitchen at Viet de Lites prepares a traditional Vietnamese pancake stuffed with pork mince, shrimp and bean sprouts all wrapped in a lettuce leaf for dipping into a Vietnamese sauce. After your meal, take a leisurely stroll along the river to the art gallery and museum or just sit back and enjoy the view.
