LOCATIONNear the Courts in the City.
PROFILED BY DE GROOTS MEDIABest known to barristers and high flyers, this gorgeous little corner pub fills to the brim daily with people escaping offices and courtrooms. Quality Champagnes are on board for celebrating post court cases, while a great wine list, swift bar service and a restaurant menu with more than just the pub standards satisfies all quirks. The signature special of two sirloin steaks and a bottle of Penfolds Bin 407 is a must try for couples. However, if romance isn’t quite the mood for the evening, it’s hard to go past an entree of rice wine marinated scallops on spiced avocado and gazpacho, followed by one of the fantastic pizzas or main meals.
Downstairs, a cellar room provides a cool and private dining space for functions of up to 30 seated or 70 standing, complete with a private bar. The original stone walls of the cellar with cast iron features and ornate candelabras provide an experience unlike any other. A courtyard area at the rear of the pub is currently closed for renovations, but will be open some time in 2009, and will be one of the only true beer gardens still left in Brisbane. The Grosvenor opens Monday to Friday, and weekends are available for functions upon request.
