The moon is shining at the Full Moon Hotel. A recent refurbishment has transformed it from a pub with pokies and an awful carpet to something best described as chic. The interior is fitted out with wooden tables, interesting light fittings and a classic bar that opens out onto a timber deck. The deck runs the full length of the building and affords a fantastic view through the gum trees to Bramble Bay. It is breathtaking when there is a full moon, lighting up the water and the tidal flats below.

The Full Moon Hotel is a place to relax, enjoy the environment and a few beers. The food is definitely up to scratch with some interesting items on the menu that are as good as they sound. Start with a salad of bug tails and crispy pork with shredded wombok and hoisin sauce; or baked crab with avocado salsa and spicy tomato. Mains offer a range of pasta and seafood dishes as well as char-grill options such as reef and beef (rib fillet with king prawns, bugs and scallops) served with garlic butter, salad and beer-battered chips.
