You may not notice this small establishment the first time you walk down Boundary Street in the West End, and for this you would be forgiven because it is surrounded by much larger cafes and restaurants. However, the Swiss Gourmet Delicatessen holds its own among the bigger venues and has done for the last 20 years. Offering table service during breakfast and counter service for the rest of the day, customers have been coming here for years to enjoy good quality coffee, small snacks, light meals and continental delicacies, as well as a good value breakfast.

The standard breakfast offers bacon, gourmet sausage, eggs, tomato, onion, mushroom and toast with your choice of a coffee, tea or juice for only $7.95. The lunch menu offers speciality breads such as foccacia, panini and bagels with your choice of fresh deli fillings. While you wait for your cappuccino to arrive, peruse the shelves that are laden with quality Australian and imported products. There are Tasmanian cheeses, Belgian chocolates, marinara sauces and cured or smoked meats. Then there are the fresh treats on offer such as homemade crepes, spinach and ricotta lasagne, and the popular Portuguese custard tarts that are found nowhere else in Brisbane.
