PROFILED BY DEGROOTS MEDIAIt’s not easy to offer more than just one style of cuisine however Salvatore at Salon has meshed influences from Turkey to Spain to France and beyond – plus, he gets it right every time. This interesting culmination of flavours has resulted in a very diverse menu that indeed deserves attention. The beverage menu too is something that must be experienced. If you have an appreciation for a fine cocktail then Salon should be on your to do list. The Paris Mule with a twist of lavender liqueur is just one of the specialities that sees the regulars returning for more. Inside, the restaurant is eloquent in its decor and concept which has been designed with comfort in mind. Stylishly low-set leather bucket chairs offer snug seating arrangements which lend themselves to the philosophy that guests should take the time to linger over dinner. Adorned on one side of the restaurant are beautiful drapes that create small booths for more intimate groups.
The menu has been derived and designed carefully so as to include the many flavours that stretch between the corners of gourmet Europe. Try chorizo and white bean ragout with crusty sourdough, spanakopita, Portuguese spiced chicken, fresh steamed black lip mussel and crispy pork belly. Match your meal with a selection from the wine list which pans Australia, New Zealand and Europe and settle in to enjoy. Salon’s good vibes will almost certainly see you indulging in a post dinner cocktail or dessert too.
