The Seaview Hotel isn’t much to look at from outside, and the interior decorating could do with an overhaul, but you certainly can’t fault them for making the best of what they’ve got. The interior is spotlessly clean and neat, with some old photographs up on the walls of a by-gone era before development threw Brisbane into the 21st Century and people forgot about the pleasure of a counter meal, a few lagers and good value. The tables are small and square, so can easily be moved together to accommodate a larger crowd. The view through the almost floor to ceiling windows offers a spectacular scene of Moreton Bay and the islands.

The simple menu doesn’t disappoint and the meals are quite large offering value for money. Choose from coconut chicken tenderloins with a Thai plum dipping sauce, or san choy bau (chicken mince blended with vegetables and satay sauce wrapped in crisp lettuce leaves) for entrees. There are a few seafood options such as oysters, garlic prawns and Nile Perch; salads, pasta and the all-important Surf and Turf make up the rest of the menu.
