Organic Char

Organic Char is just like Cha Cha Char but organic (no surprises there I guess). Most people, me included, tend to think that organic means vegie or super healthy. They assume that they serve celery and lemon water. But this place is amazing. I think I’ve finally found a place that we can both go to and really enjoy. Brilliant!!! It was actually quite difficult choosing a starter – as EVERYTHING comes in both starter and mains size, there must have been nearly 15 to choose from! This suited me fine though as I’m a super fussy eater (suddenly his reasons for bringing me here were starting to make sense!) I ended up choosing the carpaccio beetroot dish to start, which came out looking like a little work of art – the beetroot was curled up like little rose petals and came alongside the most beautiful feta I’ve ever tasted. Next the mains… of course, he couldn’t stay away from the steak – going of course for the best – the Wagyu! It came with potato croquettes and polenta (most of the polenta I admit I stole for myself!)… not that I was hungry…. I opted for the lamb, which was actually really filling and came served with an unusual chilli and mint jelly (I think the jury is still out on that… but maybe my thoughts were with the polenta!) Overall, I’m just so happy to have finally found a restaurant that is NICE that we can BOTH enjoy. Thank you OC… you pulled him away from the BBQ and have given us both some really healthy and tasty food to eat! Even the desserts!!!  07/10/2011
