PROFILED BY DE GROOTS MEDIAThis stylish modern Australian restaurant is located in The Oaks Group’s four and a half star hotel overlooking the Brisbane River and the colonial William Jolly Bridge. By day it is a stunning setting to enjoy a snack from the bar or the lunch menus while soaking up the warmth of the sun on the front deck. On the hotter days recline on a comfy seat near the bar or next to the full length windows that allow a view of the river.
The restaurant has recently undergone a refurbishment and the difference is dramatic. The cornerstone of the restaurant is the large formal piano that is polished to a shine. The bar is stylish, new and brimming with liqueurs and aperitifs just waiting to be shaken or stirred into a fabulous cocktail by the experienced bar staff. The menu offers a range of dishes that complement the extensive wine list. Try the twice-baked souffle with asparagus and cherry tomato served with rocket salad and parmesan cheese. For the seafood lover there are a range of oyster options at an affordable price. For mains try the ‘Barker’s Creek’ pork cutlet: a perfectly roasted 300 gram rib served with ratatouille and apple gillette, finished with a pear and Midori jus.
