PROFILED BY DE GROOTS MEDIAWith its slick interior, Mirasoul is a sight to behold. Its inside space comprises a relaxed front lounge area, booth seating, high steel tables and chairs and a well-oiled bar to match. Sample the multi-ethnic shared plates (which borrow their label from the Spanish tapas) to get a taste of the superb fare without overdoing it. Try the stuffed mushrooms brimming with baked ricotta, tomato and fresh herb, the sesame duck crepes with cucumber, coriander and mint or the crispy salt and pepper calamari with an adventurous tequila and lime aioli.
Mirasoul’s ambiance depicts a sleek backstreet Melburnian cocktail bar – the perfect contemporary venue for a night out with friends among excellent food, an impressively stocked bar and bold, slightly cheeky cocktails. Get your paws on a “sweet cougar” (honey liqueur shaken with Massenez Peche, fresh passionfruit, ginger and lemon juice). The pizzas are persuasive; try the gourmet “posh” which strikes a pose with red onion, chicken, camembert, avocado and sweet cranberry. For something a little more down to earth, but still delish, try the oven-dried tomato, basil, buffalo mozzarella and lemon Margherita. There are also a few tasty risottos and pastas on the menu. One standout is the Spanish seafood risotto which tempts with paprika spiced chicken, chorizo, peas, saffron, prawns and calamari. The deals on offer throughout the week make the place well worthy of a visit.
