LOCATION
Noosa Heads
DETAILS
Lindonis has been making memories on bustling Hastings Street for way over a decade. The restaurant opened in March 1989 with the intention of creating an authentic Italian restaurant where guests for the night could reminisce, or imagine for the first time they were truly in Italy. Owned by Rio and Amanda Capurso, Lindonis is now recognised as Noosa’s busiest and most successful Italian restaurant.
FOOD & BEVERAGE
While the menu has representation from most Italian regions, it leans more strongly towards southern Italian cuisine, where the climate and casual lifestyle is so similar to that of Noosa.
Whenever I'm in Noosa, I make sure I pay a visit to Lindoni's. The soft candlelight and authentic music makes this a great spot for a date, however, my last Lindonis experience was with an old friend. We commented on the romantic atmosphere, joked about our anticipation of a violin player jumping out from behind the water fountain, and pretended to be in love. Much of the conversation was dedicated to our respective travels through Italy. Funny how smells and sounds cause memories to suddenly become so stark and profound- the authenticity of the food and the atmosphere at Lindonis does it to me every time.
The floor staff are all professional wait staff, who have remained loyal to Lindoni’s for many years. The team is headed up by floor manager, Rio Capurso and the difference here is that they clearly, genuinely love what they do. Like the Italians, the staff here have a deep understanding of the true art of hospitality.
Don't miss the Spaghetti and spicy veal meatballs (think a big Italian Mamma wearing an apron and waving a wooden spoon) and be sure to leave room for the Tiramisu- it's right on the money.
