The women love cooking so much they go home and start all over again, says owner John Theoharis, boasting that the restaurant serves the very same food he has eaten his whole life. The stuffed capsicum and stuffed eggplant, for example, are delicious Lefkas staples, yet hard to come by in many other restaurants.
One popular dish regularly whisked from the kitchen is octapothi psito, grilled baby octopus piled high, which sends wafts of freshly made marinade throughout the vibrant hustle bustle of the restaurant. Another favourite is the yiros, which for takeaway is rolled up with a pungent garlic sauce or in-store is served on pita with salad. For entrees the meze plates are a must, with all the dips made fresh. The five dip combo is the way to go if you've encouraged friends to join you. Greece is alive and well in Lefka's, with the contemporary Grecian music and decor inviting diners to relax and soak up the experience.
