PROFILED BY DE GROOTS MEDIANo introduction is needed for this ever popular Mediterranean restaurant that has been pleasing crowds for the last six years at Brisbane’s Southbank Parklands. Set in a stunning location overlooking the aquamarine beach-style pool amidst bougainvillea clad trees and Brisbane’s river views. Kapsali is a great place to enjoy a weekend lunch, romantic dinner or the festival atmosphere on a Saturday night.
Owner George Kalligeros ensures that the food is Mediterranean at heart, as well as the warm friendly service. The menu is extensive and offers traditional Greek and Italian dishes such as Prawn Sagnaki, hearty Moussaka, and a generous Antipasto Platter. There are plenty of oysters to choose from, as well as Steaks, Pasta and a comprehensive Children’s Menu. But Kapsali is not just about good food. The entertainment on offer on Friday and Saturday nights ensures that you will walk away smiling. There is often a Live Greek band, including Belly Dancers and a large wooden dance floor on which to while away the hours in the arms of your partner. When your feet have had enough, relax by the water and enjoy some traditional Baclava and Galatobouriko with ice cream and a quality Greek ouzo.
