PROFILED BY DE GROOTS MEDIADecks Restaurant banishes the humble backyard family barbecue and plastic pergola with its impressive culinary efforts and wonderful setting. In picture-perfect parkland surrounds, Decks is located on a charming open-air verandah that hugs a refined, modern Queensland-style venue. Sights of the Brisbane River make it a superb dining destination whether tucking into freshly-shucked natural oysters, salt and pepper calamari or a 250gm Queensland Charbray-bred rib-eye fillet. There’s also good cocktail list and a thoughtful selection of wines, and the friendly and professional staff constantly ensure that all of your needs are met.
With a passion and focus on the freshest local seafood and prime beef available, this restaurant makes quality ingredients and produce its star components – and this stands out. A range of platters offer a marvellous way to chat while sampling some of Queensland’s finest seafood – prawns, crumbed baby calamari, grilled Atlantic salmon, sea scallops, crumbed whiting – with a big serving of piping hot chips. If you’re more meat than ocean, try the fillet mignon which comes perfectly wrapped in ribbons of bacon and set on a potato gratin with sweet semi-roasted cherry tomatoes and farm-fresh sugar snaps. The restaurant also offers a weekend breakfast menu and a daily lunch. Decks is a great place to enjoy great food.
