There’s nothing like oysters and champagne to put a tired restaurant scene back on the map. Cove Bar and Dining is part of the major South Bank refurbishment and owner Adam Barton has recruited head chef Adam Herbert to produce tantalising oyster tasters from a variety of 15 to 20 seasonal oysters. The setting is very NYC with a terrace overlooking the sparkling water and an exclusively intimate bar for a special few inside, to directly watch over the kitchen action.

Don't bother:

Lovely views but nothing else. Service was shocking, rude & arrogant more interested in their own happiness than that of the customer. Highly priced food which wasn't particularly good. Give it a big miss. review 12/04/2012

Far out, what's with all the hate? I had great service! I just moved to Brisbane and I'm glad I made the decision to live in Southbank, thanks to Cove. The oysters are to die for! It specifically says that this site isn't for rants and unhappy patrons to complain... that's what UrbanSpoon is for. Lol. review 30/03/2012

Disappointed.:

While the setting is fantastic the food was average at best and the service deserves less than the one star I gave it. Completely ruined my evening. When you forget one main order and get another one completely wrong at a table of four something is not right. Then to not apologise but act with an arrogance that the mistakes were somehow our fault was just down right rude. review 16/02/2012

Don't bother. Views are good, food and service and furniture is not. Hopeless place to be if it rains as entire restaurant is outside without adequate cover, which we discovered the hard way. Asked waitress about a dish on menu, she said she had never tried it so didnt know... Once I got the dish - lamb, it was very small and yet price was not. Tried crumble dessert, pear was undercooked and dish was boring and bland. The bill was incorrect when it arrived. Whole experience was a comedy of errors. review 30/11/2011
