Cicada burst onto the Brisbane city scene without any of the media hype that many other establishments eagerly generate and has made its mark quickly with fantastic food, a perfect location and exceptional service. It’s ideal for a quick business lunch or a relaxing catch-up with friends. The simplistic yet intriguing menu serves mains, sides, appetising cheese platters and, on request, canapes for groups. Open from 6.30am, Cicada does a marvellous breakfast, quick or at your leisure and also offers a bright and alluring sandwich bar full of fresh goodies perfect for a quick take-away lunch.

Not short on space, the establishment takes up a good portion of the street level of one of Brisbane city’s newest up-market buildings. It’s modern and sophisticated yet casual enough to adapt to cute flats or even modest high heels. The menu boasts a modern Australian selection with a dabbling of Italian and a great deal of seafood.

I cannot believe the prices they charge for there take away lunch meals. I brought a roast lunch today and I was giving the slimiest cut of meat and only 3 tiny roast potatoes to boot. Very disappointed. review 02/12/2011
