Chinese cuisine has always been popular with Australians, and China Sea Milton prides itself on producing some of Brisbane’s best. As the winner of the Best Chinese Restaurant title at the 2008 Restaurant and Catering Awards for Excellence, not to mention a plethora of other awards, this restaurant’s popularity comes as no surprise.
The cuisine derives from the Cantonese and Szechuan styles of cooking – Szechuan being a spicier style of cuisine. From 1980 to 2005 China Sea was located in Fortitude Valley’s Chinatown; it has since moved to its current location in Milton. Owner Stanley Cheung boasts the quality and consistency of China Sea is one of the best in the area. Some of the dishes follow strict and proven recipes, such as the Peking duck, which matches attention to detail with the best quality ingredients. Other popular dishes include the deep-fried quail with seasoning and spices, the steamed scallops with a delicate ginger sauce, and pan-fried pork dumplings. If you are a Chinese cuisine connoisseur, then China Sea is a must. One of its attractions is the fresh seafood on offer in the restaurant’s fish tank. Diners can choose from fresh crab, fish or lobster and have them cooked to order.
