PROFILED BY DEGROOTS MEDIACav’s Steakhouse is probably the most famous restaurant on the Gold Coast. For decades the restaurant with the three cows grazing in the garden has been serving quality food; but succulent steaks are the main attraction. This unpretentious establishment specialises in keeping customers satisfied. While food styles have changed dramatically since Cav’s first opened, restaurateur Richard Cavill and his team manage to give folks what they want, keeping pace with the times but still retaining all the old favourites.
Diners choose their steak from a refrigerated cabinet and tell the staff how they want it cooked, be it blue, rare, medium or well done. Cav’s is a top spot for lunch or dinner as it is a short drive away from the busy dining precincts and there is plenty of parking available. The restaurant has lots of nooks and crannies so conversation can take place without having to shout over the din of other diners and there is also a courtyard for people who prefer to dine alfresco. Cav’s is fully licensed with an extensive menu incorporating a variety of international dishes and Aussie favourites. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner every day and little tykes are well catered for, with their own menu and a playground to make mischief in.
