Casablanca is located on the busy Petrie Terrace strip, not far from Suncorp Stadium, at the head of a street that offers pure after-hours entertainment and fun. Before a State of Origin match the street is often lined with revellers and fans basking in the hope of victory. In the off-season Petrie Terrace still offers a lot with quality fine dining and entertainment, including their very own Comedy Club. Casablanca fits in perfectly comprising a cafe, bar, restaurant and cellar club all rolled into one. The back deck, set amid bright lights and palms, is the main seating area and the setting is very relaxed. You won’t be overrun with fantastic service, but Casablanca is a perfect spot to soak up the atmosphere.
The menu lists modern Australian dishes with a few international options thrown in for good measure, such as South African chicken curry cooked in a mild curried coconut sauce and served with rice and pappadams. For the health conscious, the bush tucker fire-grilled herb emu steak is 95 per cent fat-free and marinated in bush onion, sweet tree honey, ginger-root, wild garlic and lime, topped with tree oyster mushrooms on mashed pumpkin.
