LOCATIONWest End.
PROFILED by DE GROOTS MEDIAAtomica is a neat little cafe situated in the middle of Boundary Street, the street to be seen on in West End. It has a relaxed atmosphere and is situated in a long narrow space that is simple and fresh – painted white with stylish white tables, blue chairs and trendy lamps. Your attention is drawn to the mirrored feature that runs along the walls the length of the cafe on which you will find the specials which change daily.
The cafe is run by a couple that have been in the industry for many years. They have brought with them their skills in creating good quality meals that are a cut above your average cafe fare. Their experience working in Italian restaurants is evident in the menu and the specials. Try the spaghetti puttanesca comprising black olives, anchovies and capers sauteed with garlic, chilli and tomato. While they do a mean lunch, their best feature is their all-day breakfast, made with fresh, healthy produce. All the eggs are free-range, and the milk and yoghurt is Barambah organic (also used in coffees). Choose from buttermilk pancakes, eggs benedict with real hollandaise, or the vego breakfast.
