Despite a mere two months in operation, Takagi Sushi has quickly gained notoriety as the sushi joint of choice in Darwin’s busy Smith Street mall. Among locals and tourists it has already attracted a large and loyal following in a short time. Rather than offer a train or a smorgasbord of options, Sushi Takagi focuses on a small, select number of nori maki hand rolls, which are created in accordance with a strict Japanese culinary ethic. The kitchen team and owners hail from Japan, so you can rest assured that what you are getting is as genuine a Japanese experience as you’ll get outside of the Land of the Rising Sun.

Apart from the wonderfully moist and refreshing avocado rolls, the specialty of the house is a teriyaki chicken that can only be described as a taste sensation – it is light, beautifully cooked and completely delicious. The elegant minimalist setting and decor give the eatery a sophisticated modern look, and the very efficient and speedy staff ensure that lunchtime crowds are served quickly and with minimal fuss. Fast food doesn’t getter any fresher or tastier than this.
