PROFILED BY DE GROOTS MEDIAAhoy there! Ravenous? For a hearty Top End-slash-Italian dinner with a nautical tang, hove to at Seadogs Pizza and Pasta Bar. The garlic bread is intense, the pizzas excellent and the pasta marinara sensational. Seadogs’ mains include risotto, scallopini, prawns, parmigiana, calamari, salads, a super spag bol and (is this a stowaway?) chicken schnitzel. For pizza with piratical tendencies pick “Blackbeard’s favourite” (parmesan, mozzarella and herbs), or sail away under the stars with “tradewinds” (hot pepperoni, capsicum, sweet brown onion and mozzarella). BYO drop to drink, settle at a sturdy timber bench and add to the happy hubbub. A visitor to Darwin? Seadogs offers a tropical dining experience that won’t bust your bank balance. It’s within walking distance of the CBD, and stands proudly in Darwin’s trendy harbour-side location.
Seadogs Pizza and Pasta Bar is a family operated venue. It’s popular with a local clientele who visit and revisit for their favourite dishes. Situated on Cullen Bay’s main boulevard, a step away from the waterfront boardwalk, it’s a treat to relax in the spacious courtyard, with the palm fronds shifting in the warm breeze. There’s easy access to parking, though the area can be busy on weekend nights. Get in early to be sure of a table.
