Recently refurbished, redsalt is a refreshing addition to Darwin’s dining scene. The decor is stylish yet simple with wooden floors and tables complemented by muted colours and the occasional impressive artwork. The new look includes a variety of menus that have been compiled to satisfy a range of appetites and tastes, day or night. For lunch the choices range from prosciutto, basil, fetta and cherry tomato pizza, to a steak sandwich with 150g sirloin on rye, to tempura whiting fillets served with bridge chips and a cucumber salad with ponza sauce, or a dozen pacific oysters kilpatrick.
For something more substantial there is a top quality 250g sirloin, scotch fillet or crispy skin barramundi from the grill. They are served with a choice of mashed potato, potato gratin or chunky fries, and sauce options including red wine, garlic jus, Jack Daniels whisky, cafe de Paris butter or a creamy pepper sauce. Finish off with a platter of excellent Australian cheeses or the house special, affogato, a rich Italian delicacy with coffee, ice-cream and liqueur. The wine list includes a range of Australian reds and whites, many also offered by the glass, along with some premium labels for special occasions.
