Raging Bull is a pure-blooded steakhouse. If you want to eat big slabs of juicy red meat, this is the place for you. If you’re a vegetarian – stay far, far away. Their mascot is a silver bull with ferociously glowing blue eyes and the bathrooms are marked “bulls” (boys), and “heifers” (girls). While the Wild West theme (replete with buffalo skulls and saddles) is a light-hearted cliche, what sets Raging Bull apart is a great wine selection housed in a walk-in cellar, and behind a big set of barn doors, a large dining room catering to functions.

If you’re especially hungry you can order starters. Try the macadamia crumbed calamari with chilli mango dip. There’s a variety of steaks on the menu, or you can saunter over to the kitchen and choose from the raw steaks behind the counter. The biggest steak is the “big bugger” t-bone weighing in at 500 grams, but for pure indulgence order the carpetbag eye fillet, stuffed with oysters and wrapped in bacon with wilted spinach, mash, mushrooms and red wine jus. If you really can’t manage a steak, try the chicken supreme pocketed with prawns and brie with char-grilled vegies, mash and bearnaise sauce. In fairness, there are two vego options on the menu, but if you’re not here for the meat, you’re not really experiencing The Bull.
