This family-run trattoria was set up five years ago by Roman expatriate Emiliano Biro, and continues to serve up all that is authentically Italian – from great pizza and perfectly al dente pastas, to that warm hospitality this Mediterranean nation is famous for. The restaurant serves lunch Monday through Friday and dinner seven nights, and will also cater for functions. There are some non pizza and pasta dishes available, such as scaloppini or calamari with chips and salad, but you would be ill-advised to stray from the principle menu items. The pizzas are available in five sizes ranging from baby size through to extra large. Try the Et Special with prosciutto, bocconcini, sun-dried tomatoes and egg. In the pasta section choose from penne, spaghetti or fettuccine with a staggering 17 sauces, six of which are vegetarian. Many of the sauces are named for their areas of origin, such as the Ascolana sauce of tuna and green olives from the city of Ascoli Piceno. But the best thing about Pizza Pasta is that you can order your takeaway online, so next time you’re ordering in give Dominoes a miss and treat yourself to some real Italian pizza.
