PROFILED BY DE GROOTS MEDIAStep through the doors at Fannie Bay Super Pizza and enjoy the wonderful assault on all your senses. The open kitchen is a frenetic flurry of action as pizza chefs pound dough and shout at each other in Italian over the crowded din of the lively dining room. The enticing smell of roasting pizzas and fresh dough permeates the restaurant, and the dishes themselves are quite amazingly delicious.
In operation for over 20 years, and a permanent fixture on the Darwin dining scene, Super Pizza delivers on its name. The pizza base is the perfect consistency and the sauce is sweet and wonderfully flavoured. There is a wide selection of toppings from the traditional margarita to the local “Aussie” (topped with ham and egg). Base sizes range from baby to extra large. Pasta, seafood and steaks are also on the menu for those looking for something different. The calzone (foldover) is the signature dish at Super Pizza – stuffed with pepperoni and bacon, it’s an Italian culinary marvel. Super Pizza is BYO and perfect for groups; the constantly packed and atmospheric dining room bears testament to the friends and family who come here to revel in good company, good wine and super pizzas.
